Data Sources

Public evidence only.

Orbit builds intelligence from information that is already publicly visible. This page records what it observes, and what it deliberately does not.

What was this built from?
What Orbit observes

Categories of evidence.

Your web presence
The publicly reachable pages of the businesses you track: structure, content, metadata, and the elements that shape how visitors and search systems read them.
Competitor web presence
The same publicly reachable surfaces for competitors you explicitly add, captured so that changes can be detected between observations.
Technical and performance characteristics
Measurable page behaviour such as loading and responsiveness, captured the way a visitor would encounter it.
Publicly stated positioning
Messaging, offers, promotions, and other claims a business chooses to publish on its own site.
Your own inputs
Business names, tracked sites, competitors, and workflow state you enter into Orbit.
Used to organize your intelligence — never sold or shared for advertising.
What Orbit does not collect

Deliberate exclusions.

  • No private or internal competitor systems, and nothing behind a login.
  • No end-user behavioural tracking on your website; Orbit requires no tracking script.
  • No purchase of personal data, contact lists, or third-party audience profiles.
  • No scraping of sources that publicly ask not to be crawled.
How evidence is handled

Retained, dated, attributable.

  • Every observation is stored with the subject it belongs to and the moment it was captured.
  • Observations are scoped to your account and are not shared between customers.
  • Findings link back to the observation that produced them, so any claim can be traced.
  • You can stop tracking a business or competitor at any time.

If it is not publicly visible, Orbit does not use it.
